Getting started

Five minutes to your first shelf.

Here's the whole onboarding, from invite to first collection.

  1. Get your invite

    Request one on the home page. iPhone: install TestFlight from the App Store, then open our link. Android: open the link on your phone and allow the install.

  2. Create your account

    Email + a six-digit code, or Sign in with Apple. Pick a username: it's permanent and doubles as your invite code.

  3. Answer the beauty quiz

    Eight quick panels: interests, goals, concerns, AM / PM, your current routine, loved and avoided ingredients. Skip anything; change it later in Settings.

  4. Build a collection

    Profile → Build a collection. Search the catalogue, add products, add a divider for Night, pick a cover, preview, publish.

  5. Find your people

    Socials → search a friend's username, or share your invite code. Follow a few creators from Trending to fill your For You feed.

FAQ

Quick answers.

How do I join the beta?+
Request an invite on the home page. iPhone testers get a TestFlight link; Android testers get a direct install link. Invites go out in small batches, usually within a few days.
The Android build says it expired.+
Internal Android builds expire after 14 days. Open your invite link again to download the latest build; your account and data are untouched. We're moving to Google Play internal testing soon, which updates automatically.
My sign-in code never arrived.+
Check spam for an email from Shelfie. Codes are six digits and valid for 10 minutes. During the beta there is an hourly limit on emails across all users; if you hit it, wait 20 minutes or sign in with Apple or Google instead.
Why can't I sign in with Google?+
Google sign-in is in limited release until our public launch. Use Apple or an email code; your account is the same either way.
How do I make a collection private?+
Open the collection → pencil → Edit collection → Privacy → Only me. Followers lets people who follow you see it. Group collections are visible to members only unless the host changes it.
What does the rainbow ring on a collection mean?+
That collection has reels or posts tagged to it that you haven't watched yet. Tap play to watch them back to back. The ring turns grey once you've seen everything.
How accurate is the INCI analyzer?+
It is a rule-based tool that uses ingredient order and the 1% line to estimate ranges. It is not a lab test and not medical advice. Always patch-test and talk to a dermatologist about concerns.
A product is missing or wrong.+
Products tab → Request a product → paste the store link. We read the page and an admin approves it, usually within a day. For corrections, use the form below with the product name.
How do I report someone?+
Open their profile or the chat → ··· → Report. Pick a reason. Reports are reviewed by a person. You can also Block, which removes them from your feeds and prevents messages.
How do I delete my account and data?+
Menu → Account → Request account deletion. We confirm by email and remove everything from production within 7 days and from backups within 30. See our privacy policy.
Which phones are supported?+
iPhone running iOS 16.4 or later, and Android 8 or later. Foldables get a dedicated layout. iPad is not supported yet.
Is Shelfie free?+
Yes. The beta is free and the core app will stay free. Any future premium features will be clearly labelled.

Delete your data

In the app: Menu → Account → Request account deletion. Or email privacy@stackset.io from your sign-up address. Done within 30 days, backups included.

Watch history is per device

The rainbow ring resets if you switch phones. Per-account history is on the roadmap.

Some older product images

A few images from early imports can fail to load when a retailer changes its CDN. We mirror them as we find them; use Request a product to flag one.

Email rate limits

During the beta, sign-in emails are rate-limited project-wide. Apple sign-in is the fastest alternative.
